This is a General Conference Odyssey post for the <\/span>Sunday morning session<\/span><\/a> of the October 2006 General Conference.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I have been spending a little time studying the priesthood recently, and I am overwhelmed with all the new thoughts and understanding I\u2019m gaining. Sadly, I have a terrible memory, so much of what I\u2019m learning is being forgotten. However, the feelings that come with this lovely journey remain with me. Happily, as I go back and reread my notes, I can re-learn and re-feel the joy of these truths.<\/span><\/p>\n

This session of conference has so many wonderful messages. They have added to my testimony in a profound way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those walking along the Covenant Path, toward the Tree of Life, have to \u201ccling\u201d to the Rod of Iron and \u201ccontinue\u201d on the path, never giving up, or giving into worldly attractions. Today, we are faced with so many captivating distractions. Oh, to have the faith to stay on!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pres. Monson<\/span><\/a> counsels that our faith must go deep, or we simply won\u2019t withstand the storms of life, or the worldly temptations that abound.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pres. Hinckley\u2019s<\/span><\/a> talk urges us to find our faith. Even if it\u2019s just a little bit of faith. If it\u2019s honest, if it comes from deep within us, if we are doing the best we can, we can move mountains, or be that great influence for someone else.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the interesting thing. Only God can see how deep our faith goes. We may be the weakest person, but if God can see our sincerity He can carry us as we gain more faith in the very miracle of His mercy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is such a beautiful thought to me. To be rescued in our weakness, as long as we\"\"<\/a> climb onto that Covenant Path and hang on for dear life.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I continue to be blown away that even though Jesus has already fulfilled His promise through His Infinite Atoning Sacrifice, He still extends His mercy, offering us so much more than we deserve. I want to cling to and hang on to His rod, and stay on His path, for Him. Oh, to have the faith to stay on!<\/span><\/p>\n
