{"id":164,"date":"2008-11-30T18:12:53","date_gmt":"2008-12-01T00:12:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/?p=164"},"modified":"2012-05-17T20:53:09","modified_gmt":"2012-05-18T02:53:09","slug":"thanks-in-hebrew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/2008\/11\/30\/thanks-in-hebrew\/","title":{"rendered":"Thanks in Hebrew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the Thanksgiving Holiday, I thought, Thanks in Hebrew would be very appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks in Hebrew is pronounced, Todah and looks like this:<\/p>\n<p>\u05ea\u05d5\u05d3\u05d4<\/p>\n<p>The first character is the Tav, \u05ea , and represents a sacred enclosure or specifically the Holy of Holies or Temple.<\/p>\n<p>The second character is the Vav, \u05d5 , and represents the veil in the Temple.<\/p>\n<p>The third character is the Dalet, \u05d3 , and represents man.<\/p>\n<p>The forth character is the Hey, \u05d4 , and represents the spirit, a whisper or Christ himself.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, Thanks in Hebrew symbolically means returning to the Holy of Holies by passing through the veil and having man or us being in the presence of Jesus Christ in His Temple. We give thanks to Christ, who is the only one that can bring us through the veil and return us to the presence of the Lord through His Atonement.
