{"id":169,"date":"2008-12-12T12:24:58","date_gmt":"2008-12-12T18:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/?p=169"},"modified":"2009-01-01T20:08:23","modified_gmt":"2009-01-02T02:08:23","slug":"you-know-enough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/12\/you-know-enough\/","title":{"rendered":"You Know Enough"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m still reading through my conference talks. \u00a0My favorites list keeps growing, and I just have to express some of my thoughts, so here\u2019s my take on You Know Enough, by Elder Neil L. Andersen.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe thing that prevents people from fulfilling their destiny, more than anything else, is fear\/insecurities.\u00a0 We have an excuse for anything, and if you give me a minute I\u2019ll come up with a couple more for everything. \u00a0Some fears are valid.\u00a0 When we have been raised in a situation that makes us not trust people, or we\u2019ve lead a cushy life and suddenly that life has been taken out from under us, that can all throw us for a loop and it\u2019s hard to recover from it. \u00a0But that\u2019s when we need God the most, to pull us up from our boot straps and show us the way; which He does every time.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nElder Andersen talks about while dealing with our own personal struggles, we deny God as well. \u00a0We refuse to recognize those times when we feel Him near. \u00a0Everyone of us has had a moment of despair, when we felt completely alone, yet somehow knew we weren\u2019t completely alone. \u00a0Our problems don\u2019t go away, but acknowledging that God is there, is enough to keep us going until things get better. \u00a0I love how he puts it, \u201cHe didn\u2019t know everything, but he knew enough.\u201d and \u201cOur faith becomes simple and pure.\u00a0 We come to know what we already knew.\u201d\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHe tells a sweet story about a little girl, Hadley, who was born deaf.\u00a0 Her loving parents did much to help the situation physically by allowing surgery that brought limited hearing, but more importantly, her parents gave her knowledge of the gospel and a loving Father in Heaven. \u00a0One day, she sees a boy, in a wheelchair, with no legs.\u00a0 She loudly comments on this unusual scene.\u00a0 Any ordinary parent would cringe with embarrassment and rush far away without a word of explanation, or worse an over-reactive burst of anger. \u00a0This mother whispered, \u201cHeavenly Father makes all of His children different.\u201d \u00a0The little girl, accepting this, begins explaining the anticipation and glories of the resurrection to this little boy. \u00a0\u201cJesus will make everything all right.\u201d\u00a0 Elder Andersen concludes, \u201cHadley knew enough.\u201d<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKnowing God IS enough.\u00a0 Knowing Heavenly Father\u2019s Plan for me is so incredibly life-sustaining. \u00a0We have a place and it\u2019s in our Father\u2019s hearts.\u00a0 Knowing Jesus Christ is enough.\u00a0 Knowing He gave His life for me encourages me to face life head on. \u00a0So much of this world believes in just one God, and that\u2019s only when it\u2019s convenient to them. \u00a0We believe in three Gods who know us, love us, and are watching out for us always and forever.\u00a0 The Holy Ghost, who loves us just as much, is the conduit for our Heavenly Father\u2019s and our Savior\u2019s love for us. \u00a0This knowledge is enough to keep us going when times get tough. \u00a0But as our knowledge grows, we begin to realize that love is why everything good and bad happens, because God \u201cmakes everything all right\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m still reading through my conference talks. \u00a0My favorites list keeps growing, and I just have to express some of my thoughts, so here\u2019s my take on You Know Enough, by Elder Neil L.
