Why is Visiting Teaching such a problem for so many of us? We have all experienced, at one time or another, a bad visit, an incomplete month, avoiding or being avoided, insincerity, dread, maybe even a success story, and satisfying joy. I\u2019m aware that many of us feel the same about visiting teaching. In fact, I had to laugh while watching a movie short about it.<\/p>\n

Visiting Teaching Do’s and Don’t’s<\/a><\/p>\n

These following points work for both–the teacher and the teachee:<\/p>\n

First of all: The reason we pick up the phone, or open the door, should be because we want to do the work of the Lord, and not for any other reason.<\/p>\n

Second of all: By doing the work of the Lord, we will discover some truly wonderful sisters who need us, and whom we need, in our lives.<\/p>\n

Third of all: In a world as cold as ours, we need to be willing to open our hearts a little bit to receive the warmth of companionship, friendship, and love. Let’s not abuse that sacred trust.<\/p>\n

Enjoy a good laugh (I did), because we have all \u201cbeen there\/done that\u201d. But, as the Lord continues to forgive us, and give us countless opportunities, let\u2019s all make an effort to be better Visiting Teachers, as well as better people to visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
