The typical answer is, &#8220;Oh, not much. We have dinner together; nothing special.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If you understand the history of this organization, you will begin to understand the destiny and responsibility that lies at our feet. In the early days, when they had nothing, it was the sisters who rallied together to make it happen. The sisters were innovative. They checked up on each other constantly and did things together. They did not sit back and let worldly things take over their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The examples those early sisters have been to us has been forgotten. These women rolled up their sleeves and got to work helping, organizing, and building the Kingdom of God.\u00a0Our needs are quite different from those early days, but we still need women to roll their sleeves up and help, organize, and build the Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">When I offer some of the ideas I&#8217;ve come up with for this site, to those friends who seem to have no vision, some of the comments I get back are, &#8220;Oh, that wouldn&#8217;t work,&#8221; &#8220;Not enough sisters come,&#8221; &#8220;We like to keep things simple.&#8221; It breaks my heart to hear &#8220;the RS President won&#8217;t go for anything like that,&#8221; or worse, &#8220;the bishop just wants us to socialize and befriend some of the new sisters.&#8221; There is a vision in Relief Society that must take hold for sisters to realize we don&#8217;t have to go it alone in our own homes; we have Relief Society to help us, train us, and inspire us to do better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Please do your sisters a favor and experiment with some of the ideas listed here. If you can get your bishop to offer some kind of solid, spiritual, guiding, <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">goal,<\/span><\/strong> or direction to follow, hold a meeting that will <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">enrich<\/span><\/strong> the lives of the families around that goal. Better yet, hold a <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">series<\/span><\/strong> of meetings along that one goal and <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">shape <\/span><\/strong>the lives of the families, so their lives are <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">impacted for good.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Dinner and socializing can be added on the side, but the main feast should be something they can take home and chew on for a while.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If you can feed your sisters the gospel in action, you will eventually be feeding an entire family, ward, neighborhood, community, and environment. Continue your good works in the name of Relief Society, which acts in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">These ideas can be in a meeting setting, added to a newsletter as a challenge, performed on a personal level, enjoyed by a very small group of people. They can include non-members, singles, YW, young marrieds, the elderly, husbands, two people, or the entire ward. Surely, if these ideas don&#8217;t interest you, they may trigger better-suited ideas that are usable for your situation. There is nothing listed that is expensive, hard, or one dimensional. Hopefully, you will see something that will in some way involve all of your sisters, making them feel needed, productive, and spiritual.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Variety and fun are the staff of life. But spirituality causes a person&#8217;s heart to burn. Set a goal to bless the lives of your sisters on a spiritual level with just a little silliness mixed in for good measure (not the other way around).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">MARRIAGE<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Marriage Panel &#8212;<\/strong>Ask long-marrieds to be on a panel where any question can be asked with an honest answer.\u00a0 You might have to come up with your own questions at first, but if you have this activity repeated at various times in the year, maybe focusing on various topics, with various couples on your panel, people may loosen up enough to ask really good questions. And great, marriage strengthening ideas can be shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2) \u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Finances<\/strong> &#8212; Ask a Financial specialist to offer advice and guidance on various topics: budget, debt reduction, insurance, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Communication &#8212; <\/strong>Ask a coach\/couple to teach healthy couple interaction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4) \u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Marriage Class<\/strong> &#8212;\u00a0Invite the Marriage Relations Teacher to head up some class activities that strengthen marriages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5) \u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Dating Ideas<\/strong> &#8212; Collect, from the ward, cheap or no-cost date ideas and make them all available on the ward website or page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6) \u00a0 <strong>How To Produce A Romantic Dinner &#8212; <\/strong>Teach a class\u00a0from cooking the meal (something modest, but special), to setting the table, to suggested music, to conversation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7) \u00a0 <strong>Sports Night<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Spend an evening where everyone can learn the playing rules of their husband\u2019s favorite sport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8) \u00a0 <strong>Talks on marriage &#8212;\u00a0<\/strong>Gather talks and articles from the Ensign\/Liahona magazine, and discuss them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>NOTE:\u00a0<\/strong>It is inappropriate to discuss our personal lives in a Relief Society meeting. If someone is in need of deeper, and more specific help, advise them to go to the bishop, or speak with the Relief Society President personally. Keep all discussions hopeful, helpful, and non-judgmental. And ALWAYS leave on a positive, inspiring, and motivating thought.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">FAMILY<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Create a family <strong>Wall Hanging, Or Art Piece<\/strong>, that is meaningful to your family; include traditions, experiences, \u00a0idiosyncrasies, etc.\u00a0\u00a0Share with your ward sisters and display it in your home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Organize and make <strong>FHE ideas, visuals, responsibility charts<\/strong>, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Invite yourselves to a YM\u2019s activity<\/strong> and participate with them \u2013 even if they\u2019re just playing basketball.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Using everyone in the ward, <strong>FILM MOVIES OF SCRIPTURE STORIES<\/strong>, with costumes, props, the whole bit, then make a copy for everyone in the ward for FHE aids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Start an FHE group for <strong>Singles or Seniors<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Organize a support group for parents of troubled youth OR guide parents to the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"Church Support Groups\" href=\"http:\/\/providentliving.org\/lds-family-services?lang=eng\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>CHURCH SUPPORT GROUPS<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>:\u00a0 Drug Rehab, LDS Social Services, Employment, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7) \u00a0 \u00a0<strong> USE CHURCH APPROVED RESOURCES!<\/strong> And there are many in all areas of <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"mental health\" href=\"http:\/\/mentalhealthlibrary.info\/library\/libraryx.htm\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">mental health<\/span><\/a> <\/span>(click on LDS for a list of aids).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite a <strong>Panel Of Youth<\/strong> to answer your questions about how they think, what their needs are, what they wish their parents would know.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Meet together to discuss a specific topic and allow open discussion \u2013 <strong>Parenting skills<\/strong>; <strong>Support in Caring for the Elderly<\/strong>; Judging \u201cPopular\u201d Music, Video Games, and Media; <strong>Community issues \u2013 What can we do to protect our families<\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">10)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite the YM and YW, and your husband, to attend a <strong>\u201cDANCE OFF.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0You dance your kind of dance, the youth dance their kind of dance. Then teach each other your dances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">11) Work with the young Women to receive\u00a0YOUR Young Woman\u2019s Recognition Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">12) <strong>Challenge yourself and members of your family <\/strong>(make it a friendly competition)\u2014a)\u00a0 read lessons ahead of time and participate, b) volunteer to head up an activity, c) ask for more people on your visiting teaching\/home teaching route, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">13) Start a <strong>Mommy\u2019s Group<\/strong> (not a kid\u2019s group).\u00a0 For those entrenched in the world of children, let the kids play while the mommies learn something new; take an online class together or just talk (Talking will be the easiest, but learning together will be the most satisfying).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">14) The Marriage Relations class has a Parenting section in it.\u00a0 <strong>Offer a class on Parenting. <\/strong>\u00a0Make it so fun everyone will want to attend.\u00a0 Invite the children occasionally to bring families together in the learning process.\u00a0 (Please think outside the box, the lessons are very dated.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">15) \u00a0Remember <strong>Pursuit of Excellence<\/strong>?\u00a0 Get a group together, or work on your own, to achieve this goal and create a great award when completed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">16) \u00a0<strong>Update visual aids<\/strong> for home or Ward Library.\u00a0 Remember, you can check anything out of the Ward Library for home use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">17) Brainstorm ways your ward can protect the family, then do something about it:\u00a0 FHE ideas, boycott any outside activity on Monday nights, create a <strong>neighborhood garden<\/strong> where everyone weeds and works together, fill your home with Mormon art made by yourself or others, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">FAMILY HISTORY&#8211;TEMPLE<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite sisters to share their <strong>Cultural Dress, Dance, Food<\/strong>, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Arrange for groups to take <strong>trips to the <\/strong><strong>Family History Library\/Center<\/strong> <strong>or <\/strong><strong>Temple<\/strong> together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Direct the <strong>Family History Specialist<\/strong> to those interested in personal help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Encourage volunteering for online indexing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5) \u00a0 \u00a0Begin offering <a title=\"Temple Showers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=64 \">Temple Showers<\/a> to reward Young Women as they prepare themselves to enter the temple for marriage or mission. (Of course, this can be offered to anyone who is worthy of a temple recommend regardless of their past; their worthiness is a celebration.)<strong style=\"color: #ff6600;\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6) \u00a0 \u00a0Learn a language together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7) \u00a0 \u00a0 Organize a Writing Your\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"Personal History\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=5568\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Personal History<\/span><\/a><\/span> Class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pick one or two projects from my list of <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"101 Family History Ideas\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=111\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">101 Family History ideas<\/span><\/a><\/span>, and work together to complete it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite sisters to study up on various topics such as History of Relief Society, Suffrage, Relief Society Projects, Relief Society Presidents, etc. and create a time for them to share their findings. (Get started by looking on this site, but there is much more to learn and be in awe of.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">10) <strong>VOLUNTEER<\/strong> your time (2-3 of you as partners) at your local Family History Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">11)\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Attend classes together<\/strong> offered by the Family History Library, or your local Family History Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">12)\u00a0 Help the YW <strong>visit people in a Retirement Home, interview them, and write down their history<\/strong>. I\u2019ve always thought this would be a great way to keep young people connected with older people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">13)\u00a0 Look at your pedigree in a <strong>Fan Chart<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/\">FamilySearch.org.<\/a> You will have an instant visual of how much work has, or hasn\u2019t, been done.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">HOMEMAKING<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Sewing class\/Quilting class. <\/strong>Sadly, this is a dying art, but one we will likely have to return to out of necessity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teach <strong>DI or Garage Sale shopping<\/strong> basics. Have a<strong> FASHION SHOW<\/strong>, or show and tell, to show off your great buys. The best fun of all is to go shopping together! Keep within a budget; fix-up and repurpose together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cooking \u2013 Create an <strong>On-Line Recipe Book<\/strong> that all the sisters can tap into: Everyone contributes, tips on menu planning, notification on sale items, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>CREATE A LIST OF TALENT AND SKILLS<\/strong> in your ward and neighborhood; match them up with needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Home Industry<\/strong> \u2013 Offer ideas, support, and know-how.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Take a <strong>community class<\/strong> together on an agreed upon topic or Offer a class on <strong>simple home repairs<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>HOST THE YW<\/strong>\u00a0 in lessons on cooking, housecleaning, sewing, and organizing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teach <strong>Computer Skills.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gather <strong>housekeeping tips and tricks<\/strong>.\u00a0 Put it all on the ward website, page, or create a booklet, for all the women in the ward, including the YW. Organize it in such a way you can actually find what you need, or easily update with additional ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">10)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Teach the YM<\/strong> how to sew on a button, fix a hem, plan and cook a meal, wash clothes, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>FOOD \u2013 EMERGENCY\u00a0 PREPAREDNESS<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Store or Prepare Foods Together<\/strong>: Go shopping, can foods, freeze meals together. Create a ward garden and maintain it together. Create a <strong>dinner group<\/strong> where you plan a week&#8217;s or month&#8217;s worth of dinners together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2) \u00a0 \u00a0 Get <strong>CERT <\/strong>trained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Auto maintenance<\/strong> classes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4) \u00a0 \u00a0 Organize the ward to <strong>Buy In Bulk<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>PRACTICE Emergency Situations<\/strong> \u2013 climbing out of a burning house, turning off gas, setting up shelter, setting up and maintaining a porta potty, meeting at a specified location, organizing the church building as a shelter, etc. The idea is to actually practice these things before you\u2019re forced to, but talking about, and sharing tips, is very important too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Volunteer to <strong>LIVE OFF YOUR FOOD STORAGE<\/strong> for a period of time, or spend a weekend <strong>SURVIVING ON YOUR 72 HOUR KIT<\/strong> and report on what you learned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0If you live nearby, take a small group to work at the manufacturing plants or farms owned by the church (you can call to volunteer outside of your typical ward assignments):\u00a0 <strong>Soap<\/strong>, <strong>pasta<\/strong>, <strong>cheese, Wet Pack<\/strong>, <strong>apples<\/strong>, <strong>strawberries, etc<\/strong>. You often get to buy or take home, whatever you worked on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite a <strong>Master Gardener<\/strong> to offer tips on gardening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If someone has a wheat grinder (and they don\u2019t mind sharing) have <strong>a wheat grinding day<\/strong>. Or a bread baking day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>10) <\/strong>\u00a0If your ward has a good mix of younger and older sisters, spend some time <strong>comparing then and nows<\/strong>, or try canning jam together, or create a grandma connection with the little ones. Older sisters know how to<strong> recycle, reuse and redo.\u00a0<\/strong>Younger sisters know how to<strong> shortcut, juggle, and think outside the box. <\/strong>Everyone has value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>11) <\/strong>We live in a throwaway society, and as a result, many of us suffer from <strong>financial problems.<\/strong> The ward should be there to <strong>help one another with ideas, advice, motivation, no-cost activities<\/strong>; with no shame, only unconditional love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">12) Combine efforts to <strong>find sale items<\/strong> to build food and home storage; encourage teams, groups, or friends to shop together for the best deals and brainstorm the best ideas for organization and maintenance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>HUMANITARIAN AND SERVICE<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Have a committee who prepares kits for sisters to complete at home \u2013 <strong>make kits available every week<\/strong> \u2013 baby blankets to crochet or sew around, dolls &amp; toys, booklets, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Invite YW and Activity Day Girls, as often as you can<\/strong>, to teach them how to make these items, visit with them, and set a standard of excellence in charity work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Adopt a sister ward<\/strong> (inner city or across the world).\u00a0 Share ideas, offer aids, knowledge, materials, etc. Work with them. Make needed items for them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4)\u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>Visit<\/strong> or <strong>Minister<\/strong> to someone outside of your regular assignment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Adopt a charity organization or retirement home<\/strong>. Provide meals, cleaning supplies, and visits. Organize \u201c<strong>America\u2019s Got Talent<\/strong>\u201d having your ward perform quarterly, not just at Christmastime. The bad acts are almost more entertaining than the good ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If someone in the <strong>neighborhood needs help<\/strong> with their home, organize teams to clean, fix up, organize, reconstruct, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Clean off Graffiti.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8) \u00a0 \u00a0 Take sack lunches to the city park, or shelter, to <strong>feed the homeless.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Visit a <strong>retirement home.\u00a0<\/strong>Pamper them, read to them, hold a musical evening with them. Ask them about their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">10)\u00a0 Ask your stake or ward leaders what <strong>service may be rendered to members:<\/strong>\u00a0 Form Service Groups, classes, consultations, support, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">11)\u00a0 Designate <strong>a day to do humanitarian projects; <\/strong>Certain hours in the daytime, certain hours in the evening to include everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">12)\u00a0 In October, with the help of all the sisters, <strong>find, visit, evaluate, all who need help for Christmas<\/strong>\u2014from the active to the inactive (even non-members). Use creative and inoffensive ways to help them: Secret Santa, gift cards, etc. This doesn&#8217;t just have to be the Bishop&#8217;s responsibility. It can be shared by appropriate others depending on each situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">13)\u00a0 <strong>Volunteer at a church, or community, venue<\/strong>\u2014tour guide, docent, host, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">14)\u00a0 Start a <strong>Knitting or crocheting group<\/strong> making some of our favorite projects, i.e., booties, hats, blankets, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">15)\u00a0 Form your own <strong>charity organization<\/strong> or offer to captain an existing organization in your area. You can find many worthy groups online.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SISTERHOOD<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>FORM A COMMUNITY GROUP,<\/strong> in your Relief Society, that studies issues locally or globally. Learn about women&#8217;s issues and how you can help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Host An Etiquette Dinner<\/strong> with the YW, include a \u201cmodest dress\u201d fashion show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite Sisters To Teach Or Demo their hobbies or talents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4)\u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>TEACH A PIANO, AND CONDUCTING, CLASS<\/strong>.\u00a0 Allow students to use their new skills in Sunday Relief Society, Young Women&#8217;s, or Primary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Exercise together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Offer to <strong>HOST A PRIMARY ACTIVITY<\/strong>. Even though there are no more activities, we can still get our children together to do something fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tape RS lessons so YW and Primary workers can hear them. Or hold an additional study class just for them. Always find a way to include your YW and Primary sisters. With this same idea: do all you can to help them with their calling, remember them with announcements and activities, include them as much as you can in what the RS is doing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Sign up for a Welfare Assignment as a group of friends.<\/strong>\u00a0 Invite those you\u2019re sitting next to (whether you know them well or not is the whole point) and you all go together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Create a <strong>Relief Society Prayer Roll.<\/strong>\u00a0 Urge sisters to pray for one another. The reasons for these prayers may or may not be made known, but sisters will feel an instant closeness as they think and pray for one another during the day. You may even want to pick a day during the week and Fast together, as sisters, for one another.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">10)\u00a0 <strong>Sit next to someone<\/strong> you don\u2019t know and keep asking them questions until you find something you have in common.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">11)\u00a0\u00a0 Try some <strong>Networking<\/strong>\u2014share concerns with one another in the likelihood that someone out there has some answers, or knows someone who does.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">12) Invite yourself to <strong>sit in Nursery to help<\/strong> with the little ones. Or <strong>sit with a family with young children<\/strong> and offer a helping hand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">13)\u00a0 Set up a <strong>bartering system<\/strong>; trade goods, skills, and labor. Share what you have and bless someone else\u2019s life. Or teach negotiation tactics to make the best possible purchases at the best possible price.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">14) Why don\u2019t we hold a <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"Retrenchment\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=561\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Retrenchment Meeting<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u2014First Sunday of the month, or other, maybe when the Young Women join us for the entire meeting and plan together what we will do to emphasize Christ\u2019s teachings\u2014projects, lessons, activities, events, goals, service, etc.\u00a0 The following month, report and add new.\u00a0 Just like they did back in the old days.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPIRITUAL PREPAREDNESS<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Start a \u201cChurch Books Only\u201d <strong>BOOK CLUB.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Form a group working their way through <strong>Preach My Gospel, <\/strong><strong>Institute Manuals.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Invite the Gospel Doctrine Teacher (or any scholar) to <strong>TEACH A RELIGION CLASS<\/strong> \u2013 a continuation of the Sunday lesson, or other.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Study RS lessons<\/strong> in depth, during the week, after they\u2019ve been taught.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Discuss Conference talks<\/strong> \u2013 pull out from the talks what we\u2019ve been asked to do.\u00a0 Challenge and report on what you\u2019ve done to obey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Discuss and practice the principles in <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"A Heart Like His\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=147\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">\u201cA Heart Like His\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hold <strong>Testimony Meeting<\/strong> every Fast Sunday in Relief Society. You may want to have a testimony meeting with your family too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Share missionary experiences<\/strong> as young missionaries, part-time service missionaries, senior missionaries, neighborhood missionaries, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Learn some <strong>new songs in the hymnbook<\/strong>, and their story, and <strong>sing this testimony<\/strong> as a group of sisters. Start a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"Singing Mothers\" href=\" http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=96\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Singing Mothers<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong> group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">10)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Have a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"Johnny Lingo\" href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/pfahoLfrddU\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">\u201cJohnny Lingo\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/span> party<\/strong> and be an eight-cow wife. Or watch some of the great church, seminary, or scripture study videos available to us that we never have time to watch anymore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">11)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Discover what the <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a title=\"Song of Redeeming Love\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/?p=1887\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">\u201csong of redeeming love\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/span> or the \u201cnew song\u201d<\/strong> is, in the scriptures.
