Joseph Smith told the sisters that an organization for women has always existed on the earth. I have counselors and work with some men who serve as the Priesthood leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">During the month of March, we decided to put on this simple reenactment of the early Relief Society meetings. I had asked a few people from the ward to come over and help and word got out and we ended up with quite a room full of people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Eliza2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2752 size-medium\" title=\"Eliza2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Eliza2.jpg?resize=300%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Eliza2.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Eliza2.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Eliza2.jpg?w=2048&amp;ssl=1 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>It\u2019s one thing to read about what happened in that first meeting, and even to know it happened\u2026but when you see it in action, the Spirit rests upon you testifying that\u00a0Relief Society is truly divine, that there is an importance to its work, and that the mission is yet to be fulfilled in us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A big thank you to all those who participated. The actors really got into their part with hair and costumes. And the audience was a part of all the voting. Knowing its history helps us believe in its purpose, which teaches us to be involved in its destiny.
