I\u2019ve selected what I think are the greatest concerns we, as women of the church, should be focusing on.\u00a0 I realize this is a bold statement and I welcome any additions to this list.\u00a0 But if you agree with me, please comment and share your experiences.\u00a0 I am posting them as separate goals, and they are not in any particular order, because I feel they are all equally important.<\/p>\n
GOAL #3\u00a0 BUILD UP OUR SISTERHOOD AND MAKE OURSELVES KNOWN IN THE WORLD<\/p>\n
Often, when lessons are given in Relief Society discussion centers around how the individual isn\u2019t perfect, but must learn to overcome.\u00a0 While this is very true, I believe there is a much bigger vision we must look at.<\/p>\n
We are the largest Sisterhood living on the planet earth.\u00a0 We are a force to be reckoned with.\u00a0 We have the truth on our side and when we listen and follow our leaders, we can see into the future to bless lives, prevent horrors, and save those who would be saved.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think we have reached our potential.<\/p>\n
There are pockets of sisters doing amazing work.\u00a0 There are individuals we look up to.\u00a0 The \u201cother woman\u201d is out there being perfect in her \u201cperfect\u201d situation.\u00a0 We need to understand that we are \u201cother women\u201d, we can create our own \u201cperfect\u201d situation when we all play on the same team.<\/p>\n
Women are often petty.\u00a0 We tend to micromanage.\u00a0 Every ward has at least one woman who \u201cdoes it all\u201d and the rest of us let her.\u00a0 Between wanting to run the show and feeling apathy, women are all over the map.\u00a0 But there is no sense of unity.<\/p>\n
We have absolutely no reason to compete with one another, for we are a Sisterhood.\u00a0 We are on the same team with the same goals in mind.\u00a0 Our goals are centered on Christ and accomplishing His work.\u00a0\u00a0 Just think if we were to make ourselves known to the world.\u00a0 We could stand unquestioningly for Modesty, Virtue, Righteousness, Honesty, etc.<\/p>\n
As a Sisterhood, we can feel power from each other to strengthen our marriages, our families, ourselves, our sisters, our fellowman.\u00a0 As a Sisterhood, we know we are never alone; we belong to something much bigger that expects and demands my unique help and involvement to succeed.<\/p>\n
The Relief Society is not just a Sunday lesson.\u00a0 It is a mighty Sisterhood, organized to perform good works for me, for my loved ones, for the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
