There are four numbers represented in the menorah symbol. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">They are the number 7 for the seven branches of the tree, the number 3 for the three branches on either side of the tree, the number 2 for the two sides of the tree and the number 1 for the branch that divides the sacrifices down the middle.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>NUMBER 7<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The number 7 is symbolic of complete, perfect, and whole. All 7 branches make up the<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/Menorah-Arch-of-Titus.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9466\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/Menorah-Arch-of-Titus-300x167.png?resize=300%2C167\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/Menorah-Arch-of-Titus.png?resize=300%2C167&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/Menorah-Arch-of-Titus.png?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> whole or complete tree of life, which represents a perfect Savior in Jesus Christ. The idea of complete or whole also represents the whole plan of salvation from the beginning to the end, or a complete plan (just like a complete creation with seven periods and complete plan with seven dispensations). The plan of salvation if followed from beginning to end using the atonement of Christ will make each us complete, perfect and whole.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>NUMBER 3<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The number 3 is symbolic of the Godhead,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">priesthood head or presidency and covenant. Each side of the menorah has three branches on the right and left sides. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Looking north, the spires on the right (front) of the temple represent the Melchizedek Priesthood. They are just a little higher than the back spires.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9473\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9473\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/saltlaketemple.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-9473 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/saltlaketemple.jpg?resize=300%2C297&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/saltlaketemple.jpg?resize=300%2C297&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/saltlaketemple.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/saltlaketemple.jpg?w=306&amp;ssl=1 306w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9473\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The photo shows its east face.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The left (back) spires represent the Aaronic Priesthood. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">All covenants that we make with the Lord are done through either Aaronic or Melchizedek Priesthood ordinances. The Melchizedek Priesthood has a spiritual focus while the Aaronic has a temporal focus. Hence, the right symbolizes the spiritual and the left the temporal. As priesthood ordinances are performed on o<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">ur behalf, and as we keep the covenants that we have made and follow the plan to the end, we can become perfected in Christ through His atonement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>NUMBER 2<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The number 2 is symbolic of witnesses as well as the opposition of good versus evil, light, and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">darkness, spiritual and temporal, even male and female, etc. The two priesthood heads stand as witnesses to all the ordinances that are performed by the priesthood. All saving ordinances that are performed in the Church require two witnesses. The number 2 also reminds us of the need for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">opposition in all things in order to carry out the complete plan of salvation. Joy does not exist without sadness and the same holds true for every opposite.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Again, because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, we will overcome all opposition if we have faith, repent, keep our covenants and endure to the end so that we will become complete or perfect.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Jesus-5.jpeg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9183 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Jesus-5.jpeg?resize=183%2C275\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a>NUMBER 1<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Finally, the number 1 is symbolic of the Lord God. The middle or dividing branch that cuts through all of the sacrifices with which we all make covenants. He is the great Creator, Mediator, Comforter; the Great I AM. He is the one and only true God. He should be in the center of our lives.
