As the scriptures teach repeatedly,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mormon-belief.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6052\" title=\"mormon-belief\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ldswomenofgod.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mormon-belief-300x246.jpg?resize=300%2C246\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"246\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mormon-belief.jpg?resize=300%2C246&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.reliefsocietywomen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/mormon-belief.jpg?w=576&amp;ssl=1 576w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cAnd we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.\u201d (2 Ne 25:26)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ultimately, it won\u2019t matter the stories, experiences, or history of our ancestors, unless it can be related to why we believe as we do, why we did what we did, and why we followed the course to the very end.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Challenge:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">There are several ways you can record your testimony. Experiment with any of these.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Write your testimony down, as if you were speaking directly to your family. Quote scripture, words from our prophets, relate specific learnings you have been devoted to and touched by as you\u2019ve lived your life. Let your loved ones know what you believe, why you believe it, how you came to know it, where you were when you first felt a \u201cburning in your bosom,\u201d and add some of the joys you have felt because of it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Leave your testimony as you write the spiritual experiences you wish to relate to your posterity. Write down all that you can remember, especially down to the tears in your eyes and the beating of your heart.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Take your favorite scripture verses and liken them unto yourself. Rewrite them so they speak from your voice. You can do this with many of the meaningful scriptures you have favored, underlined, memorized, or even found randomly for this assignment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Many people have found solace in the Psalms. Write your own psalm. Pick one that inspires you and imitate its form, but use your words and meaning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Write your own poems. Fill them with the things that mean the most to you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Perhaps, over the years, you have lived by your own creed, goals you set long ago, words that impressed you so much, you have always remembered them. This monument is to remember the obligations and blessings given, and to continue sharing the stories of the Second Rescue with others.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Gordon B. Hinckley wrote his 10 beliefs in his talk, \u201cI Believe\u201d in the August 1992 Ensign. Write your own list of ten beliefs for your family.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Write what you believe in and how you arrived at this belief. Both will be interesting to your posterity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If you have testimonies of your parents, grandparents, etc. gather them together adding them to your own.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Write about the people, scriptures, and moments, that influenced your testimony.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Do some soul searching and be inspired. Do not worry about being too personal. This writing is yours and is based on your own approach to life and your own experience. You are writing for your posterity.
