Here\u2019s the bottom line—Women are different from Men.\u00a0 We feel differently about things.\u00a0 We think differently.\u00a0 Our needs are different.\u00a0 Our emotions run on different levels\u2026completely.<\/p>\n
For women, Modesty is a universal problem.\u00a0 For men, the difficulty is Pornography.<\/p>\n
For some reason, women cannot get enough of wanting to look sexy.\u00a0 We are surrounded with media that would flaunt every aspect of the female body, and we buy into it repeatedly.\u00a0 Pornography is a growing crisis that complements Modesty, interestingly enough.\u00a0 The more women parade themselves, the more men justify their twisted behavior.<\/p>\n
While the women should concentrate on modesty issues, men should be talking, amongst themselves, about pornography.\u00a0 Leaders need to be bold, blunt, and forthright.<\/p>\n
There is a lot we, as mothers, can do to help our boys and men.\u00a0 Certainly, the way we dress is of utmost importance.\u00a0 The Internet is rampant, and too easily available.\u00a0 All home computers should be in a public area with a password ONLY THE MOTHER should know.\u00a0 Turn the TV off.\u00a0 Check cell phones.\u00a0 Talk to one another about EVERYTHING. \u00a0Mothers should keep their eyes open and refuse to be blinded by a sweet smile or an innocent look.\u00a0 Set boundaries and follow through with love.<\/p>\n
We can\u2019t play dumb anymore.\u00a0 We can\u2019t ignore what is all around us.\u00a0 We can\u2019t presume any of this will never touch us, or our loved ones.
\nSince pornography isn\u2019t seasonal, only progressive, interviews are of the utmost importance (Fathers, Home Teachers, YM Leaders, anyone who cares for the boy).\u00a0\u00a0 As mothers, we can really help by \u201craising the bar\u201d within our families.\u00a0\u00a0 The influence of a righteous woman will be felt in her own home.<\/p>\n
The Priesthood session is where the Brethren often get blasted for this problem of pornography.\u00a0 The fact that our men hold the Priesthood (the power of God), they are under greater condemnation, than the women, when they forsake this responsibility.\u00a0 All women should read these talks, so we can hear the warnings, and be aware of ways we can help our men; and use caution ourselves. \u00a0The best help of all is to review Elder Dallin H. Oaks words, \u201cYoung women, please understand that if you dress immodestly, you are magnifying this problem by becoming pornography to some of the men who see you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Women, do not become pornography.\u00a0 Men, train yourselves to look away.<\/p>\n
