I\u2019m not into politics, but I think I\u2019m going to have to bone up.\u00a0 We can\u2019t help but hear (and worry) about what\u2019s going on in our country.\u00a0 As I recall from history lessons, this country was set up to be governed by the voice of the people.\u00a0 But it is my opinion there are a lot of people just like me out there; people who kind of go along with the flow; listen, but don\u2019t act; complain, but don\u2019t get involved.<\/p>\n
As I have read about what our early Mormon Women accomplished out here in the Wild West, speaking out, meeting regularly to organize and give voice, demanding to be heard, traveling to meetings, and bringing people to Utah to see for themselves, I wonder if we present-day sisters should be preparing to do something similar?<\/p>\n
Our constitution is changing and allowing for some issues that go against our belief systems.\u00a0 As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in the name of Christianity, we should be taking more of an interest in our moral welfare.<\/p>\n
Relief Society can provide information, organization, and delegation, so we have a voice, and are heard in the public arena.\u00a0 Relief Society Mass Meetings can return where all those who choose to raise their voices can come together, volunteer themselves, and feel momentum from our Mormon Women movement.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s only a matter of time where the state you live in will be threatened with a moral issue, if it already hasn\u2019t happened.\u00a0 We need to get up off of our chairs, raise our voices, and make a stand.\u00a0 We also need to be brave enough and strong enough to handle the backlash that will surely come.\u00a0 It is up to us to make a difference today.\u00a0 Who knoweth whether we are come to the earth for such a time as this?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
