Hebrew Heart

In Hebrew the word for heart is pronounced, lev and would look like this:

לב

The Lamed, ל, symbolically represents a staff or rod of the shepherd. The rod is the word of God and in this case means the covenant between man and God.

The Bet, ב, symbolically represents the blessing and/or the house of God or the temple.

Therefore, heart in Hebrew symbolically says that our heart should be centered in the covenants and word of God as taught in the temple. This is a very powerful reminder of what we should set our hearts on in this life.
