25 Treasures Pres. Nelson Asked Women To Seek

I’m still working my way through the recent General Conference talks. We were told some pretty amazing things. In particular, in his talk, Spiritual Treasures, I found 25 treasures Pres. Nelson asked women to seek.

  1. Learn and understand our temple blessings.
  2. Learn and understand more of what the restoration of the priesthood encompasses.
  3. Claim our ability to have direct access to the power of God.
  4. Learn to draw upon the Savior’s power to solve personal and family problems.
  5. Seek to have the Holy Ghost as our constant companion.
  6. Study prayerfully Doctrine and Covenants 25.
  7. Put aside things of the world—Examine our lives, ask the Holy Ghost to change our interests and desires.
  8. Relish the changes, as they come, in our lives and perspectives.
  9. Consecrate our lives to the Lord.
  10. Understand and receive confidence from our baptism and temple covenants. We are on the right path. Use our new-found power to ignore Satan, who tries to knock us off this path.
  11. Go to the temple often. Going to the temple regularly arms us with God’s power to lead and protect our families.
  12. Angels will be our associates. (This was previously promised to Relief Society sisters by Joseph Smith on April 28, 1842.)
  13. We have been given power from on high to stop Satan’s influence in our lives.
  14. Our “unique moral compass”—to distinguish between right and wrong—is enhanced when we make and keep covenants.
  15. We are “guardians of morality” and must teach it to the world through our examples. Pres. Nelson declared: “Let me be very clear about this: if the world loses the moral rectitude of its women, the world will never recover.”
  16. We Latter-day Saints are not of the world; we are covenant Israel.
  17. We are to spend our time preparing a people for the Second Coming of the Lord.
  18. Along with our priesthood power, at certain times in our lives, we are given priesthood authority to fulfill a calling. We are also authorized to officiate in priesthood ordinances every time we attend and work in the temple.
  19. Because of the temple covenants we’ve made, we always have priesthood power around us. We lead side-by-side with our husbands and preside in their absence.
  20. We can speak and teach with power and authority. Whether by exhortation or conversation, we need to recognize our ability to stand for truth and righteousness on any occasion.
  21. Our power increases as we pray, fast, study scriptures, serve in the temple, do family history work, etc. The heavens will open up to us.
  22. Study everything we can about the priesthood to gain a full understanding of our blessings. Study Doctrine and Covenants 84 and 107, which will lead us to other scriptures. Read what prophets have said over the years, as well.
  23. As we gain in understanding, we will feel more able to guide our families, lead them to the temple, and feel the love of their Heavenly Father and Savior.
  24. Sisters are vital to the work of the temple. The temple is where we will see our treasures.
  25. We received a blessing, from our prophet, that if we do our part, through study and revelation, we will understand priesthood power better. And we will have the faith necessary to use this power in our lives and in our families.

Our prophet has asked us to do a lot, but we can all see that the treasures easily outweigh the effort. May I suggest that we use this list to gather our Relief Society sisters? Use it to minister to one another, focus a lesson or activity around certain areas, set challenges and discuss the outcomes, make this list a constant conversation at every gathering. Help one another become the sisters our prophet has invited us to become.
